Q. How do I book onto a course / package?

A. Your place is reserved when you click on the course / package you wish to attend, complete the booking form and pay the course fee in full (which includes a non-refundable deposit of £95.00) OR when you click on the course / package you wish to attend, complete the booking form and pay a non-refundable deposit of £95.00. All balances must be paid prior to 30 days from the course / package commencement date

Q. I have booked a course / package but am now unable to attend.

A. Cancellations must be submitted by email or in writing and be acknowledged by Remote Options. The following are the cancellation costs:

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • If the cancellation is made prior to 30 days from the commencement date – full refund of the course / package fee minus £95.00.
  • If the cancellation is made within 30 days from the commencement date – 100% of the total course / package fee.

Failure to arrive for the course / package on the commencement time and date – 100% of the total course / package fee.

Q. What if Remote Options cancels my course / package?

A. All courses / packages must have a minimum of 2 people in order to commence. Remote Options will notify you of a course / package cancellation, not less than 3 days prior to the commencement date, should the minimum numbers not be achieved or if Remote Options believes that conditions could be dangerous for the planned activities. In the event of a cancellation, you will be given the option to book on another course / package or be given a full refund.

Q. Will I need my own transport?

A. Yes. Transport is not provided by Remote Options (unless confirmed in the course / package details) and you may be required to use your own vehicle to get to different course / package locations. If you don’t have your own vehicle, please contact us prior to booking.

Q. What do I need to bring?

A. We will send you a recommended kit list when you make your booking. Activity equipment such as ropes, climbing gear, helmets and harnesses (as relevant to the course / package) can be provided but you will need to bring your own personal equipment such as footwear, warm clothing, waterproofs, rucksack, food and drink.


Q. Where do we meet?

A. Remote Options will confirm the place and time when you make your booking.

Q. Do I need to take out insurance?

A. Course fees do not include insurance cover. Remote Options advise you take out your own insurance (such as provided by the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) Membership or Travel Insurance) to cover such eventualities as course / package cancellation, loss or damage to personal belongings, personal liability and personal accident. By booking onto a Remote Options course / package, you understand and accept the following BMC participation statement: “The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.”. Accepting these risks in no way compromises your legal rights, nor does it release Remote Options from any of its obligations towards you. Remote Options will endeavour to ensure risks are kept to a minimum but we can’t remove them entirely.
